Equipped with all the features of the original copper-to-fibre conversion, plug-andplay operation, miniature size and multiplepower options, Industrial MultiPower Media Converters also support the IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard. The Duplex Fibre and Single-Strand Fibre series ships from the factory with DIN clips, allowing installation on a DIN rail.

When installing multiple converter units on a DIN rail, use one DC input source and then cascade from one DC block to the next until you reach the maximum current available. There are five different ways to power the Industrial MultiPower Media Converter: AC power adaptor, 5-50-VDC power, USB cable, Power over Ethernet or the PowerTray chassis. You can use the first four options at the same time to provide maximum redundancy and to make sure your mission-critical applications remain up and running. For example, connect the media converter to a PSE switch while also using an AC power adaptor, DC terminal block 99 or a USB cable. Should one of these power sources fail, the secondary sources will seamlessly continue to supply power to the converter. In addition, you can connect the PSE switch to an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) to ensure the switch and each connected media converter will always have power, allowing use of spare UPS outlets for additional equipment.
