More Bandwidth, lomger distances for your DSL Ethernet Extensions
If you need more — meaning, much more — bandwidth for you network running across copper wires, then here is the ultimate technology for you. While elsewhere 2.3 Mbps are standard and 5.7 Mbps are top of the line, let Black Box show you what is really possible.
With the Etherlink IV, you get 15-Mbps per copper pair using G.SHDSL technology at its best for distances where other technologies fail. We have shown you VDSL technology able to run at 24-Mbps on a 2-wire copper line, but distance is limited to 600 metres at 24-Mbps. Etherlink IV can do 15-Mbps per copper pair at distances of up to 2500 metres. By using 4 copper pairs (8 wires), you can connect at 60-Mbps over these distances.
Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint or Multidrop
Using two Etherlink IV modems gives you a simple point-to-point application (from here to there). A multidrop application, for example, is possible using 4-wire models together with 2-wire models.
DSL Technology competing with fibre optic?
Just a few years ago, people doubted that more than 100 Megabit could be possible with copper cables at distances of 100 metres or more. Using fibre optic multimode cabling, distances of 2000 metres are now the norm. Now with the Etherlink IV, DSL technology is ready to compete with fibre optic. Etherlink IV gives you the advantage of saving the cost of installing fibre optic cabling because now you really can have a network throughput suitable for Voice over IP, Video on Demand, Internet, Database applications and more.
